The hotel had some positives like a nice room but needed updating. However, the lack of closet space and seating was a downside, along with the requirement to pre-pay for the room. The service was excellent with friendly staff, but some amenities were lacking. The location was a bit tricky to access but had its charms. Dining options were nothing special and a bit overpriced. Overall, a mix of good and not so good aspects.
Rooms

The room was nice but needed updating. It had no closet, only a wardrobe, and lacked seating, giving it a sparse feel.
Service
9.0
The service was excellent, especially in promptly replacing de-programmed card keys. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Location

The location was okay, though accessing the hotel from the road was a bit tricky. It was positioned between one-way lanes, making navigation a bit challenging.

The hotel's location was very convenient for exploring downtown Charleston. The rooms had a musky odor initially but were clean overall. The service was accommodating and courteous, and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The dining options were average, and the hotel's facilities were well-maintained.
Rooms
7.0
Initially, the room had a musky odor like an old boat or basement, but after moving to another room, it was clean and comfortable. The location to downtown was very convenient.
Service

The service throughout my stay was top-notch. From the front desk to the managers, everyone was very accommodating and friendly.

The hotel had a pretty good room deal - for about $200 a night, which seemed a bit high. However, the room itself was lovely with a king-sized bed, so it felt like a decent value for the money.
Rooms
8.0
The room was very nice with a king-sized bed and was a good value for the money, although the rate was nearly double what it should have been.
Service
6.0
The service was a bit mixed. While they were nice and polite, they seemed to constantly apologize and often shifted blame on others. They also changed our room booking because we didn't make the reservation directly with them.
Location
9.0
I loved how the hotel was off by itself on the causeway, away from the congestion of downtown Charleston. The view of the harbor and downtown area was simply stunning, and it was still quite central and close to everything I wanted to visit.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a bit of a mixed bag. While the breakfast was excellent, it took a bit too long to be served. They had a great variety available until 10:30 am, which was nice, but the absence of juice at breakfast was a letdown.
Facilities
The hotel facilities were decent, though not outstanding. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Staying at the Holiday Day Inn Riverview was a mixed experience. The rooms, located on the 10th floor, were fine, but the patio door gap caused unsettling noise from the wind. However, the service from the staff, ranging from taking orange juice meant for schoolkids to housekeeping, was kind and helpful. The location, while between two busy roads, was close to various attractions and convenient for dining and shopping. The dining experience was underwhelming with mostly bread and carbs, along with poorly prepared bacon and eggs.
Rooms

My stay on the 10th floor was satisfactory, but the patio door gap let in disturbing wind noise.

The staff's service, from the breakfast incident to housekeeping, was kind and helpful.

The hotel rooms aren't as ugly as the public areas and outside of the building, although just okay. The elevator had a rattling issue at night, but I managed to temporarily fix it. The service was mostly friendly, with the exception of one staff member. The convenient location was ideal for running around historic Charleston but not so much for touring downtown. The dining options were a mix of good and bad, with room for improvement.
Rooms
7.0
The rooms were acceptable, not too bad.
Service
6.0
The service was mostly friendly and available, except for one staff member with a bad attitude.

The dining experience had its ups and downs, with room for improvement.
